Photographic short courses
Are you an aspiring landscape photographer? If you want to get more from your photography and take your craft to the next level there will be a course that's suitable.
Award winning photographers Gethin Coles and Alex Cowley will be sharing their photographic expertise with small groups of individuals in long-weekend courses and workshops in 2010.
Courses will be tailored to specific abilities - from novices to advanced users and will cover:
- getting to know your camera, tips and techniques
- seeing the photo - training your photographer's eye to get the best image from a scene
- learning to use light creatively
- retouching your work - getting the most impact from your shots
Tutoring
Alex Cowley and Gethin Coles are both working professional photographers, shooting day in and day out. (See "The photographers" below). Together they have over 50 years photographic experience. Scenics offers intensive limited place courses - meaning very few students per tutor - its not quite one-on-one but in practice you'll get the attention of a tutor whenever you need it.

The Photographers
Gethin Coles has over 30 years photographic experience, with over 10 years as a professional photographer and designer, and several more as cinematographer. He moved to Bellingen in 2001 and has spent the last 8 years photographing the region.
Alex Cowley has won several awards for his landscape photography including the coveted AIPP New South Wales Landscape photographer of the year award.
The Landscape
The Coffs Coast region is renowned for its natural habitat. From pristine and largely deserted beaches in the east to its World Heritage Rainforests in the west, and in-between verdant river valleys like the Promised Land.

Gethin & Alex have quite different styles, often seeing different things in the same landscape and treating them in different ways.
This means you wont get shoehorned into copying a style, we'll help you develop your own, and you'll get the benefit of 2 quite different sets of photographers eyes to help you "see the shot".
